Vacation! Part 1

While Z was off having a blast with both sets of grandparents, we enjoyed a week vacation in the Pacific Northwest and Canada! The first three days were wonderful as we spend quality time with Alex's sister. She picked us up at SeaTac airport in Washington state and took us to Seattle!

After an amazing lunch at Serious Pie (a cool pizza place), we found the original Starbucks in downtown Seattle, although we skipped the crazy line to get inside!
Cool park with a totem pole.
 The famous Pike Place Market.

Views of the waterfront and Seattle Great Wheel (Ferris wheel).

Hello Space Needle.

On our long drive to Wenatchee, we stopped off and saw the beautiful Snoqualmie Falls.

Day 2, we went hiking along the Wenatchee River. Cool and gorgeous scenery!

For lunch, we stopped off in Leavenworth, an adorable Bavarian village, and enjoyed authentic German food.

 Tall May pole.

Walked off lunch along the river promenade.

Later in the evening, we took a stroll through downtown Wenatchee. Loved this praying frog.

Pybus Public Market.

Washington seems to like these signs. We do too.

Throwing flower pedals in the Columbia River.

Art Walk down by the River.
 Foot bridge to the river.

Random playable pianos around town.

Day 3, dancing bunnies.
And an awesome outing at Lake Chelan.
Picnic...

And swimming in the lake! It was wonderful and refreshing.

Lunch at the Lake View Drive-In (the "In-N-Out" of the area).

Later, ice cream and floats at the local soda fountain.

Thank you so much to our sweet sister for your generous hospitality, the amazing home-cooked meals, and the fantastic outings in your new, beautiful state! We love you!

From Central Washington, we snagged a rental car and drove north toward Canada with a quick stop in Bellingham, WA to visit L's great Uncle Richard (her grandmother's little brother) and his daughter Suzanne. So nice to spend time with family we rarely see! And thank you for the lunch, Uncle Richard!

Next stop, British Columbia! Stayed tuned for the Part 2 post of this vacation.
