Busy Summer, Part 2: July

The ultra-busy month of July started of with a fun evening in Seaport Village (San Diego) with the Panos family. Z's Thea N and Theo A visited us from Maryland!

And later in the week, we enjoyed a sweet baby shower for the Steele's. This November, Z will gain a Greek cousin (a baby boy)! The happy parents-to-be.
These shower games are serious business!

Yummy Greek food!

All in the same week, we celebrated America's birthday. Happy 4th of July!

Watching fireworks and playing with glow-sticks on the roof-deck!

Learning to sew with Gigi.
Z's first pedicure. She actually sat still!

L playing with the choir for our church's 15th anniversary/Night of Worship.

Our favorite burger place with best-buddy Connor.
 And beach days too!

Us moms enjoying the lovely weather as well (with bestie Janay).

The little mermaid.

Kayaking with the Shippees in Point Loma. Nice to see our Illinois friends in our state!

Snacking on fresh cucumber from YiaYia's garden.

What a fun month, but the best news of all? A will be returning early from Afghanistan!! It's a long journey back with lots of stops in other countries, but he's on his way! We can't wait to have him back home soon!!!

Busy Summer, Part 1: June

While we've greatly missed the main man in our life who's been working 8,000 miles away, us girls have kept busy and enjoyed a fun summer! After returning from our trip to Chicago, here are the rest of the highlights from the month of June.
Z's first time at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar!

She couldn't get enough of the kiddie rides!

Yep, that's an ostrich!

A fan of the Fair animals.

We also received a sweet package from Afghanistan: Daddy sent a jeweled elephant for Z and a bracelet for L. :)

Hanging out on Papa and Gigi's roof-deck in San Clemente.

Finding fun things in the costume trunk.
The Force is strong with this Jedi Knight-in-training.

Harp gigs for Mommy.

Weekly swim lessons for Z.

Quality time with Z's 11-year-old cousin K!

Z's first time ordering from the ice cream truck.

She chose the Hello Kitty popsicle of course!

 Our impromptu music appreciation week!

Watching the 1st Marine Division Band perform a patriotic concert in Oceanside.

Z was a fan (even though our favorite Marine wasn't performing)!

Stay tuned for the July highlights!
