The New Warrant Officer

On February 1st, A pinned on the new rank of Warrant Officer! We were so proud to attend the Appointment Ceremony at Marine Corps Base Quantico.

All 300 warrant officers swearing in.

The appointment of the three new WOs for the Marine band field.

What an honor to pin on the new, shiny rank.

Z helping to pin A's cover (hat).

Semper Fi Cutie Pie!

Admiring her daddy while strolling through Q-Town on base.

And a trip to Quantico wouldn't be complete without a visit at the Marine Corps Museum.

She loves her "Sgt. Chesty" (the English bulldog mascot of the USMC), reminding her of Daddy.

Following the Appointment Ceremony, A returned to The Basic School at Quantico to continue the grueling Warrant Officer Course. There's the Iron Mike statue at TBS, Camp Barrett.

At church, Z drew a picture of her praying for her daddy while he's clearly not enjoying his hike. The following day, A actually went a similar-looking hike; just substitute the walking sticks for rifles!

WOs giving a combat order, and night-vision during night fire.

And back at the home front, Z has taken this promotion quite seriously!

More months of WOBC to come...

A New Year

On January 4th, we enjoyed a whole week of beautiful snow and no school in Virginia Beach!

Couldn't get enough of the picturesque cardinals in the trees!

Z and her next door buddy.

A rare occurrence for us Californians.

It truly looked like Narnia!

View from Z's room.

When it started to warn back up, we enjoyed a little winter picnic at the Oceanfront.

L participated in another Paint Night with fellow Marine spouses.

In mid-January, A was presented with some awards like another Navy/Marine Achievement Medal during his Farewell Ceremony at the Naval School of Music.

The three Marines selected for Warrant Officer and their CWO5 boss.

Check out that loot, including awards and "going-away" gifts.

Our final evening with our favorite Marine before he leaves for the 4-month Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) in Quantico, VA. We will miss him so much!

And while Daddy's been awhile, this sweet girl donated 10 inches of her lovely hair to bless a child with cancer. So proud of her!
